In general, Academy attendance is open to anyone who is at least 20 years old, is a U.S. citizen, has graduated High School (or has a GED) and does not have a criminal record. But, there is more to becoming a Law Enforcement Officer than just attending class and passing a test.

Law Enforcement work is one of the most stressful occupations anyone can have. By the time you graduate from our Academy we want you to be physically and mentally ready. We also want you to be a strong candidate for any open position. So we prepare you for success by having uniform, appearance and physical fitness training and standards that are typical for Police Departments.

You can learn more about our standards here and about the application process here.
